After Michigan State was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, it was a matter of time before freshman Porter Martone signed with the Philadelphia Flyers, setting up the 2025 sixth overall pick’s NHL debut. Now, Martone has inked his entry-level contract and will soon join his new teammates in Orange & Black.   18. Kevin that cutter take is exactly right. Some flyers fans are on this he didn't want to play here crap and don't know the truth. He thought he was nhl ready the flyers didn't and he wanted out. And he's a proven to be a superstar and imagine him here with porter coming up. It's insane we traded him

I like Hathaway I think his attitude fits perfectly as a flyer and I would hate to see him go, BUT we have guys obviously coming up that are ready for the NHL and then tyson Forrester is gonna come back at some point so there’s at least two people that are gonna have to go and I think bump and bark should stay I think they have looked pretty good for the most part… I also like grebenkin I don’t think he’s ready, but he’s played decent enough to compete on the NHL level

  35. Owen Tippett has looked great..but his issue was never that he wasn’t good..His problem was always he was never consistent. We already know that Tippett is talented. I know the guy can score some nasty goals but can he continue to do that.. take this year for an example. If anyone remembers correctly, in the beginning of the year he scored like eight goals or something in a couple games right but then he was quiet for a month.. the point is we know he has the talent to score 40 goals but does he have the consistency to get 40 goals? That’s the question.

  36. Flyers need to limit how good Martone can be to keep his contract manageable. I predict Tocchet giving him 4th line minutes. I like how Tocchet has played Michkov – continually remind him that he showed up out of shape, plays him 12 minutes a night. He needs to do the same with Martone – remind him how he played in college not in the NHL and hold that against him, play him 10 minutes on the 4th line. I appreciate Tocchet trying to not have the team score goals. It is a good challenge for the team to win with only getting 2 goals a night.

  37. If Foerster comes back, I can see them trading Michkov while his value is low. He came to camp out of shape, in case you don't remember. I recall someone bringing that up a lot – maybe his coach. Good to keep reminding a player of that. It helps lower their confidence so they play worse, making it more likely management will trade him and get that sad load of untapped potential out of here! Maybe pick up another 3rd line center for him. The Flyers can't have too many 3rd line centers!

    This team is going to look so good struggling for a playoff spot the next 5 years! Heck, might even make the playoff one or twice!
