Mock Draft: Tennessee Titans TRADE BACK for Carnell Tate in BEST POSSIBLE START to NFL Draft

The Tennessee Titans can go multiple routes in the first round of the NFL Draft, but a trade back and landing Carnell Tate at wide receiver may be the best possible outcome the team could hope for with wide receiver being checked off as a need, but also with multiple Day 2 picks to add to the chest of assets. With that additional pick on Day 2, the Titans can afford to be a bit more risky with their picks which means attacking offensive line issues a year in advance. Adding offensive tackle and guard on Day 2 along with a speed edge is the perfect way to follow up the Tate pick. Finally, on Day 3, the Titans need to add players who can bring quality depth, but still be developed into potential starters down the road or at least, players who can fill a particular role on the team that isn’t obviously filled.

  1. Don’t like the draft.
Trade is good. Top Edge / CB at 7. Wide Receiver at 35, Edge / CB not picked at 7 now picked in the 3rd. Center at 4. Then whatever darts we throwing for the later parts of the draft

  2. Nah, man. Gotta take Jeremiyah Love and stop trying to get cute. The guy is a high impact player and would help Cam Ward transform this offense in ways that trading back to pick Tate could/would not. This is about as foolish as listening to all of those who wanted the Titans to trade back last year, and pass on Cam Ward. NOPE! Can't do it.

  3. Ok I guess I'm the only one that really noticed it. The Tate pick yes it's good but you said it yourself the Commanders are a pretty good team. They probably would have been a playoff team if it wasn't for injuries. Which mean that next 1st round pick will probably be in the late teens or 20s. I don't think it would be worth it. Now I would say maybe to this if Bain and Bailey come off the board before our pick. Yes that leaves Reese but I really don't trust him. Don't like the boom or bust talent.

  4. I like this draft a lot. I am a big fan of Love, but if we can get a trade back I would take that in a second. What do you think about taking the other Notre Dame RB, Price with the early 3rd round pick if we did something like this?

  5. You preach ā€œbest player availableā€ like it’s gospel… until it’s time to actually stand on it. Then suddenly it’s excuses, overthinking, and content driven takes.
Love is the BPA. Clear. Obvious. Not even a debate. And he’s exactly what helps Cam immediately…
He catches, creates YAC, blocks, and can house it from anywhere. That’s not just a player, that’s a matchup nightmare.
But instead, you’re pivoting to a ā€œpass catcherā€ like that’s somehow smarter? That’s not giving REAL football IQ… that’s you trying to sound different for clicks.
At this point, it’s obvious, you’re not making football decisions, you’re just making meaningless content.
Because passing on a true, complete playmaker when he’s clearly the best option isn’t bold or creative…
It’s just flat out INSANE …

  6. Judging by what’s stated about these players at the top of this year’s draft, why would any team trade up and surrender next year’s first round pick for any of them?

  7. Zeitler or no Zeitler, I love Dunker or Rutledge in the 3rd. If Max is at 35 love it too. Off season has set us up to get the T this year because last thing we need is to be stuck needing E, WR and T early next year….This is the closet mock Ive seen to what I've been doing lately……..Demmings is perfect at 142

  8. With Tate or any WR what matters is getting 1st downs or touchdowns on 3rd or 4th down. Equivalent of getting on base in baseball. (Moneyball style)

  9. If I trade back then I'm taking Styles or Maybe Love. This draft has WR all over and IMO Tate isnt worth a top 9 over everyone else. I would rather aquire collateral and if there is a Ohio ST WR Im taking in rnd 1 its Jeremiah Smith in 27'.
