1. Every Davidson fan-boy will be crying at Jay after this one lmao. He's 100% right, they can't go into next season with this roster possibly minus Mihkhaev and with Kantserov added, the team will literally win 19 games….

2. Where does Jay get his stats? Hughes had 8 Shots not 20. So I assume he is talking about shot attempts as opposed to shots on goal. Where can I get these stats?

I think a lot of Hawks fans under the age of 35-40 just CANT "get" the concept that "this team is VERY YOUNG"… That seems to be the problem from a fan perspective – at least my perspective… I mean these kids aren't even "real" adults yet. Keep in mind this team has what? a handful of guys over the age of 25??? that's insane… And who is the oldest? Teravinen? Bertuzzi? and they're in their early 30's??…. If it matters, I wouldn't be shocked if Davidson made a MAJOR trade at the draft.. Objectively I could definitely see Davidson trying to acquire Auston Matthews after the Olympic nonsense and the way he's been treated in Toronto since the US won Gold… The Hawks have the assets to make almost ANY blockbuster deal possible – keep in mind the Hawks only have "X" amount of roster spots open for these kids, so for better or worse several of these kids are going to be traded over the next 24 months – not to mention the plethora of first and second round picks the Hawks already have in the next 2 drafts…. I mean I would be SHOCKED if Davidson didn't pursue a blockbuster trade leading up to the draft to bring in an Auston Matthews, Jason Robertson or a player on that level – or even a Knies or Elias Pettersson..

   We will see… But as a Hawks fan of the last 40 years, it seems to be that time in the rebuild to add that established piece like the Hawks did when they signed "Hossa" .. Unfortunately UFA's are slim pickings these days – so it will have to be via trade – but again – the Hawks have the assets and the cap space to add pretty much any player that may be available this summer… And like I said – I think that player is Auston Matthews.. Now I don't know how that will work as far as the salary cap 2-3 years down the road with Bedard making league max and the rest of the kids if they reach their potential, but after the Bowman era I'd like to see the salary cap managed a little more responsibly this time around, lol… Keep in mind the Hawks have several kids that could potentially be making 10+ million per season 5 years down the road – I mean I'd hate to see Davidson in a situation where he has to sell young superstar talent because the Hawks are in cap hell all over again – that wouldn't be good – but I suppose we will cross that bridge if/when it comes.

12. We're finally realizing Vlasic is a 2nd pair defenseman. Not someone who's going to get the top minutes against star players. And that's not a bad thing. It's just what it is. Hawks need a true 1D and don't have it yet.

13. 90 shot attempts is NOT an indicator we need to bring a cheap vet D like Gryz back. There are 6 guys on the ice—all of whom contribute to that denominator. Instead, let’s bring in a star forward who can keep possession in the ozone. And, fyi, they’ve been outshot drastically all season WITH Gryz, Jay.

14. We're the best team in the league to lose games from winning positions! Yay!! If any team needs help in tanking, just watch some third periods with the Chicago Blackhawks! Even when we were up 3-2, I saw before myself Jay stating "Chicago lose to the Devils in OT", but no, they made it happen in just 19 seconds xD

    So up 3-2, Lardis gets a grade A+ chance to kill the game, but fires a lame shot, nothing on Lardis, I think he's awesome, he's playing well and super stoked he's part of the team, hope he stays for at least 8 years and becomes a Hawks legend, but those are moments when you need to kill a game.. instead we have some breakdowns defensively and lose the game. We give up 20+ A+ chances and we can't expect Spencer Knight to save all of them. We also blew a ton of great scoring chances… meh

15. The NHL system is sometimes a disgrace to the fans who pay a lot of money to go see games. I think they should implement a system where every team that misses the playoffs have an equal chance to win the lottery and that the entire draft order is completely randomized. That way no team can tank or intentionally care to not play as competitive as possible. It's a disgrace. In Sweden every team is vulnerable to relegation and promotion, which means teams always have to play to win and they always have to play for their fans. Perhaps I'm wrong?

Sure Frondell got two assists, one of a complete goalie blooper and one secondary from passing the puck to Connor Bedard on the 5-on-3 PP, other than that he looked tired and didn't connect so well with passes, terrible skating to allow Jack Hughes on a breakaway earlier in the third. Far reach to nominate him for a game puck. But he's a great talent he'll only get better and more comfortable… but tonight he looked tired!

21. I hate saying this as a season ticket holder but I hope they lose the rest of their games to give themselves a better chance at a top 2 pick. If Toews wasn’t playing tomorrow I would sell my tickets as they are not worth the price of admission

22. Blashill isnt the coach that we will have when the boys are ACTUALLY ready to compete. Blashill is the coach they brought in to be patient with all these young kids in the rebuild. You guys will know when we are actually ready to go when we have a more competitive coach. Blashill is a much more conservative coaching style.

23. Rebuild started when GMKD took over officially as 10th GM in BH history 1 March 2022. He served as interm GM since October 26, 2021. Obviously got approved from upper management to tear down team to the studs and rebuild primarily through the draft.

24. ⁠ Teravainen was a first round draft choice of the Chicago Blackhawks. He was part of the team that won the Stanley Cup. He was traded solely for Cap purposes. Of his own Freewill as a free agent, he came back to the team that drafted him. In his first year back, he scored 60 points and did a great job on a poor team. He took a puck to the face, blocking the shot and lost several teeth this year. Teravainen is an excellent veteran FA pick up and someone the young kids can look up to. Next year is the last year of his contract. If he gets surpassed by younger talent, so be it, but he has done; is doing, and will do an excellent job in my opinion. Haters are going to hate.

25. Rinzel & Levshunov have NOT shown progress. Rebuild has to have benchmarks, development has to have benchmarks…front end looks great…D looks 4/5 guys at BEST. Have to bring in D…wont come from FA, it's gotta be a trade. Jay is 100% right going into next season with the same D it's going to be a rough year…again.

27. This is one of the first pods where I genuinely disagree with Jay's logic. Definitely feels like an over-exaggeration to the last few losses with new guys in the lineup and the team obviously missing a bit of chemistry. I appreciate how Mario approached it. Lots of guys on the way still. Obviously the system change on D hasn't worked out very well and maybe we go back to the old system. We absolutely should not trade the farm for a vet defenseman.

    I think we're being very reactionary to meaningless games at the end of the season with a TON of young guys on the team.
