Houston Astros Weekend Recap: The Bats come ALIVE!

The Houston Astros may have started the season with flashes of offense and clutch moments… but is the bullpen already becoming a concern?

In this segment, we break down the Astros’ early-season performance — including a massive comeback win, standout bats from players like Joey Loperfido and Christian Walker — and the growing questions surrounding the pitching staff.

The biggest storyline? Bryan Abreu.

After being one of the Astros’ most reliable bullpen arms, Abreu has struggled early, raising concerns about consistency, closing situations, and how much margin for error this team really has in 2026.

We also dive into:
– The Astros’ bullpen depth without Josh Hader fully locking things down
– Strong outings from Hunter Brown despite pitch count concerns
– Early offensive flashes vs long-term consistency questions
– Why Yordan Alvarez could see a TON of walks this season
– Whether this team can realistically compete for the AL West

💬 The big question:
Can the Astros win the division if the bullpen stays inconsistent?

  1. Good to see you guys again! Rotation has not been great, but they should improve. Bullpen has been good except for Abreu, who has been very shaky.

It's good to see the offense waking up in games 3 and 4, Angels defense notwithstanding. Watch Loperfido. He's off to a great start.
