  1. Even when he was good, Little always a high walk rate and high WHIP for a reliever. Now the league adjusted to him and he can’t adjust back. Either a demotion to AAA or a DFA. Little should be grateful that Shatkins brought him back for a second chance.

  2. Little Trade him in a pkg. Throws meat pitches

Hes overwhelmed. He cant. Change.. hes scared
Mentally flat slurve easy to see coming. No downward. Sharpness😮
He has a hard time attacking
Get the guys off the weight sled. Get the guys off the weights tearing muscles, and ligaments

    Knee EXTENSIONS SEAT MACHINE 🫵🇨🇦🐦⚾️
Danger tape shut the DUNEDIN WEIGHT ROOM

Trade him let someone teach his pitches calls. Over the next 5 years

  3. I never liked the Ponce signing, as it represented an unjustifiable free agency overpay. With that said, no one wants to see a player go down like that for any reason. It doesn't matter who they are.

The other thing is that this situation with the bullpen was both predictable and preventable. There were guys that could have been acquired as starters to move Lauer to the bullpen (e.g. Ranger Suarez, who would have been a much better fit for this team). There were also guys who would have shored up the back end to allow for more middle relief options. Management never did that, and now they're scrambling to fill spots. With multiple starters either already injured (Bieber, Yesavage, Berrios) or really old (Scherzer), this is going to be a season long issue. This isn't a "get through this stretch and everything will be fine after that" thing. We'll be having this conversation in two weeks.

  4. Time for the offence to get busy. Our pitching is not going to save us. Our fifth starter (Estrada) is no longer mid-tier, but lower-tier, like most teams. I was hoping for Adam Macko. Let's be serious folks. We're competing for the World Series title. We can't have "projects" to work on during the season. Little's behind in the count most of the time. Send him down to AAA. Bring up Chase Lee.

  5. Again, no mention of Chase Lee. Zero runs given up in spring training, while pitching multi-inning games in relief. Last person cut from the 26-man roster, the day before Opening Day. He is an obvious call-up.

  6. This is how numbers in baseball can be deceiving:
Varland – 3.1 innings pitched, let almost a run an inning, almost a walk per inning, 1+ hits per inning..
..his ERA is zero. Those runs count in the game, those men on base matter – just not on Varland's stats. If JS doesn't reef him last night, those numbers could be worse – the R5 had to save his a$$. Did you know Varland is…
…28???? You all said he was a rookie with ceiling, hahahahahahahahaha.

  7. Little tipping pitches? He doesnt need to tip pitches. Hitters just know he cant hit the strike zone, they just sit on his fastball thats in the zone and lay everything else. They either walk or barrrel up.

  8. Little isn’t tipping pitches. He just isn’t a big league pitcher anymore. Enough with the excuses from this organization. Having a great spring means nothing.

  9. What happened to Tiedamann. Is he not playing? Why cant he fill in for Ponce. He's supposed to be the next big thing. Bring him up!!!

  10. People forget that Triple A is not the MLB. I always have to laught at these click baits when an individual says Hugh, or Major or worse, Bombshell on a YouTube video.

  11. I assume that Little has a emotional issue. He might have in his mind "What if I mess up?" or like "I can't mess this up" or something so that he couldn't perform his best.

  12. When a crowd turns on a pitcher it is time to make a trade and give him a fresh start. They could send him down but the damage is done. If anyone wants him. Varland is overused and he will end up on the IL mid season.
