Source: https://chicago.suntimes.com/bulls/2026/03/31/jaden-ivey-fiasco-sheds-light-bulls-failing-front-office "The Ivey fiasco shouldn’t be the straw that broke the camel’s back as much as a reminder that the camel had damaged legs, one working eye, and a bizarre-looking hump for years.

If Karnisovas stays, there’s a growing chance that Donovan walks at the end of the season. Then the Reinsdorfs will leave Karnisovas with a coaching search, a lottery draft choice, and free agent decisions with money to spend."

  1. How about door number 3 and we go with a new front office and a new head coach.

Though I do admit I rather keep Donovan than AK.

Outside the issue that is always there the Reinsdorfs, the GM should be an attractive position. Have their draft picks, a couple good guys in Giddey and Matas, and a lot of cap space. If there was ever a time to fire your GM now is the time. Because fucking up this off-season could take a long time to recover from

  2. donovan isn’t walking anywhere

    he has a contract

his nepotism is at work on the g-league team

not a single one of these losers willingly turning down their next direct deposit

  3. I’m with Billy, I think I’ll walk from the Bulls too.

I much rather watch the Nuggets, Wolves or Spurs anyway.

  5. I keep thinking about the reporting that Jerry absolutely loves Billy. I really wonder about the Reinsdorfs souring on AK if Billy leaves. Maybe they are already at that point with AK now. I don’t know.

  6. I’d ride with billy over ak every day of the week. I recognize that this team will certainly need a new coach at some point, but if it becomes a me or him type of situation, it’s unconscionable to think this org would back ak

  7. Name a [proven] head coach that would want to coach the projects and head cases that AK pulls in?

  8. For what it’s worth billy it’s very good friends with the resiendorf son. And got the extension from him rather than ak. (Rumor may or may not be true). If Billy is threatening this then writing on wall for ak and prolly for Billy to leave.

  9. Why do I have a feeling that ME will be the sacrificial lamb and nothing will change

  10. I actually emailed Michael Reinsdorf, will it do anything? No. But at least I did something and I told him that as a lifelong Bulls fan, I have no reason to stay a fan if AK stays in power.

  11. The only way to keep Billy is to remove AK and make Billy the new Top Dawg.

I’d rather do that for a few years than fishing for a new gm and Coach. Billy actually knows ball but was killed by bad GM moves in OKC and Chicago.

  12. >Bring in next front office

    >Front office gets told to abandon the tank and get the team to the playoffs

    >Front office proceeds to acquire every castoff/misfit/damaged goods that become available for good reason, a la AKME

    What prevents this from happening?

  13. I’m pretty mixed on AK. He did a great job building a team when he first came in. The Lonzo injury absolutely fucked our plans up for years. Which ok fine, not his fault. But the Patrick Williams extension was extremely baffling. Dumping Zach Lavine on a sucker team, trading for Giddey and drafting Buzelis, kudos. Waiting too long to trade Vucevic, not great. Giving up Coby and Ayo for nothing, why ?

  14. It should have been a glaring red flag that the Pistons were willing to part with Ivey for so little; injury or not.

  15. This some BS reporting, It assumes Billy had nothing to do with previous rosters construction and now has some added leverage.

I’m so tired of Cowley’s fake reporting without reasonable context.

  16. I think this whole Jaden Ivey thing should be the icing on the top for AK to get canned. This has been a huge failure since he has taken over for GarPax and I dont see him building a winning team.

  17. I understand that people are going to be happy with Donovan gone.

I think Donovan is a much better HC than AK is a GM.

  18. I haven’t been emotionally invested or watched more than a few Bulls games in a few years now. I now live in the Pacific Northwest and if the Sonics come back, I may just follow them until Reinsdorf sells/kicks the bucket. Unfortunately, I’m too attached to the White Sox to do the same with them. Also, at least with the Sox there’s light at the end of the Tunnel with Ishbia eventually taking over.

  19. This take is fascinating because Cowley has a TON of trust/affinity for Billy. Also imagine GM Billy Donovan: endless drafting of guards.

  20. reporting the same shit for the entire week and will likely go on for several weeks. Because he has nothing to report.

This is basically his opinion. Billy just signed an extension. Bulls have possible 4 picks. And big cap space to work in the off-season. Nobody is going anywhere. Equipped with all these opportunity to retool
