Amid New Orleans Saints’ Reuben Bain Jr. Draft Questions, NFL Draft EDGE Options Are Not Limited

Edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr.’s draft status has sparked intense speculation, but the New Orleans Saints aren’t short on options. With Arvell Reese, David Bailey, Zion Young, and Anthony Lucas in the mix, the Saints could make a bold move up the board, stand pat at pick eight or find an edge rusher in later rounds. However, Bain’s stock doesn’t seem to be massively impacted, keeping him as a possibility for New Orleans.

Kellen Moore’s leadership has reshaped New Orleans, rallying the roster through adversity and positioning the Saints as legitimate contenders in the NFC South while Tyler Shough is primed for a breakout second year, As continuity and confidence take center stage, the Saints’ additions of Ryan Wright and continued development from Charlie Smyth could tip close matchups.

  1. Just did a mock draft and I really like this. Not the best ever but pretty good.
    8. Caleb Downs S
    42. Jacob Rodriguez LB
    73. Chris Bell WR
    132. Daylen Everette CB
    136. Brenen Thompson WR
    150. Anthony Lucas EDGE
    172. Eli Raridon TE
    190. Isaiah World OT
I like that it starts by getting some defensive studs and then is a lot mix of sole offense and a little defense. I think shough can play lights out if he gets one more stud receiver in Chris bell. So, if the defense gets some studs and gets him the ball back a bunch we will be a pretty good team this season. Then of course just got some depth at edge and cb and line. I’m saying floor is 7-10 and the ceiling is 11-6 maybe and just maybe 12-5 but need to stay realistic.

  2. We just hope Bain learned his lesson, is sorry and truly apologetic in his heart, it’s truly a freak accident. If he falls to us good, if he doesn’t that’s fine too. God bless the family in the accident and the girl that passed

  3. This was yrs ago and it was a complete accident in witch he lost a friend over and him and the family has tried going on with life with their loss best way they can. And now after 2yrs the night mares are probably getting better and the pain is there always will be but becoming manageable. Then 10 days before the draft media brings it back up for profit and trying to sabotage his draft status/career. Media act like he a criminal despite no charges and the family saying it was definitely a accident and asked for this not to be brought back up cause it was very painful and 2 DAM YEARS AGO!!! prayers for the family and bain!!! He still will be drafted by 10th pk at latest. Blessing to everyone that has/is without a loved one u lost!

  4. I think Staley would rather a linebacker as a pass rusher instead of a 4 3 traditional DE like Bain but I’m sure he’d be able to adjust with him if he’s drafted

  5. I love Taysom Hill. He’s one of my favorite players all-time. But last season he wasn’t as effective as in the past. With his play style and injury history, he’s done. I hate it for him, but he has had a nice little NFL career considering he didn’t play his preferred position much.
