If Bernard and Bell are there at 42, I’m taking Bernard easy.

Bernard has a complete polished route tree with great hands and no injury concern, don’t understand why some people have bell over him.

I like them both, people like Bell specifically for the Saints because Shough is pushing for him since they played together.
This is really a ceiling vs floor debate. Bell could become a top 5 WR in the league. Bernard is a pretty solid lock to be a #2/#3 receiver out of the box but likely won’t ever be elite. Both choices have merit.
I want Sarratt from Indiana
Without question.
I’m actually not huge on Bell either. He kinda reminds me of Xavier Legette and he hasn’t done dick in the league plus Bell has the torn ACL. I understand that Shough played with him in college but it was just one year, right? Personally, a single season together isn’t enough for me to just look past his negatives.
I’ll accept it and won’t bitch if he’s the pick at 40 but he wouldn’t be who I’d take.
Nah I’m taking bell
People only want Bell because he has a rapport already with Shough. Doesn’t mean he should be the one drafted.
I swear y’all crack me up. Do any of you know how to express an opinion without trying to speak in absolutes? Or express a preference for one player without trying to downgrade the other? It’s ridiculous.
There are a ton of people who have Chris Bell over Germie Bernard. In fact, I can’t think of any professional draft analysts that have Bernard over Bell in their rankings.
Having said that, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with Bernard, and I would love to have him in New Orleans. He fits that “chess piece” type of weapon that a creative offensive coordinator like Moore can utilize to create all sorts of mismatches.
There’s also plenty to get excited about if they do decide to draft Bell, and it has nothing to do with Shough advocating for him. I understand some of you have zero concept of a football world outside of the Saints and their storylines, but Bell has been a very well regarded player within the larger football community for a while now. He didn’t just materialize once some podcaster asked Shough about drafting hi. His type of size/speed/skillset is incredibly rare, and absent the ACL tear, he would almost certainly be widely mocked in the first round.
The larger point is that both players are legit NFL prospects and have a good chance at becoming valuable starters for whatever team selects them, and we as a fanbase should be better about supporting our preferred choices without trying to neg other potential future team members in the process.
Well seems someone deleted a whole conversation. Guess they REALLY didn’t like what I said.
Saint Bernard?
Hell yeah, brah
im good with Bell for sure, but as a Bama fan I cant express enough how much Bernard has impressed me. really do hope we end up with him.
