  1. It makes NO sense to trade Lively…this offseason. Despite what the geniuses in the Mavs FO think, trading players at their lowest value (AD) is not a viable strategy. No way I’m giving him a crazy extension (only want him back at the playa price), but if he’s balling out and it comes out that he’s reject Mavs reasonable contract extension, then I’m selling high on him and trading him at the trade deadline.

  2. I’ve been over Lively for a long time now. I wouldn’t have been upset if they already traded him at the deadline.

  3. 55-36-7. That's the number of games D Lively has played in three seasons in the NBA. If this off season is time to build around CF then it's time to move Lively for whatever the team can get for him to free up a roster spot and let another team worry about his value next off season when his contract is up.

I disagree that Kyrie will eat up PG minutes. He is best off the ball. The Mavs need a PG and a good one should be available in this draft (Wagler, Flemings, Acuff, in that order). Solidify the backcourt now. The Mavs are alright with bigs (Gafford, Cisse, Bagley and PJ occasionally). Maybe get a decent pick for Lively and add that pick to our late FRP for some help in the middle.

Make the backcourt a priority this summer. A good PG will unlock Kyrie and Cooper.

  4. There's no way you get rid of D-live until you know exactly what you have. We have to battle San Antonio for years. We've got to have the size to deal with the Alien 👽.

  5. Lively is a good player and asset for the team but if it’s going to cost our idiot billionaire owners money, then, by all means, get rid of him. We need good players but not if they cost money.

  6. You keep AJ And Brandon fool. How in the hell is you gonna teach speed for that price . Coop needs to be in his right position . At point sometimes with the ball ball. He works hard creating his own shot. He misses teammates shot.

  7. Dallas needs young talent. It would be crazy to trade Lively before next season begins unless they get an offer that's too good to refuse. But they won't. Dallas has Gafford under contract and they should lock down Bagley as a versatile rotation big, so I don't see the dire situation at C.

If they're looking to trade anyone, they should be floating Kyrie to desperate "win-now" teams like Houston. If they could convince VanVleet to agree to the trade, Kyrie could elevate that team. And Houston has some valuable draft capital that Dallas should covet.

  8. You do not trade Lively. He isn't going to get a big payday. DAL is in prime position to sign him to a value contract that could be huge for them, should he get healthy. Johnson is a nothing burger. There wouldn't be a return for him, maybe a 2nd rounder with some protections. There is also a real chance we're drafting a guard sooo…. For me the contracts you're looking to move are Klay, Caleb Martin, maybe PJ depending on if we jump up in the draft and Brandon Williams via a SnT to whomever signs him to an offer sheet

  9. after the damage nico did to his medical im not playing a single game and kick rocks on a new contract im getting the hell away while i can still have a future

  10. Its a bit misleading blaming him for his uavailability this season since the medical staff with its false diagnosis is a key reason for him not being on the court.

  11. Only if livelys trade value now is worth a rotation player or half way decent pick

Otherwise they should see if he can get healthy.

Not sure where you think he’s gonna get a big payday on the market. I don’t think your all that familiar with the mavs coming from your laker pods

  12. I hate that we only got 1 full season from dlive , in the same breath I wouldn’t trade him just yet , gaff needs to go before live

  13. Lively is not unlocked without a Luka. He won’t be the same with Kyrie even if he stays healthy. Same with Gaff. Don’t underestimate the fact Luka makes everyone better

  14. This isn't an Anthony Davis situation, he's a young player and he won't be commanding a max contract at this rate and his trade value is lowered by the injuries and contract status. I'm willing to roll the dice on Lively. Sometimes guy are injury prone until they aren't, Tyson Chandler was so injury prone early in his career he even had a trade rescinded because he failed the physical

  15. Luka made everyone better. Why do you think the Lakers have the best clutch record by far this year? It is literally 10% better than OKC who is number 2! It is Luka Doncic.

  16. Anthony Davis has played more games in the past 2 years than Lively. That puts into perspective how fragile Lively is. He needs to be traded for future assets.

  17. If you trade Dlive, it’s next February because you realize you don’t wanna pay him. That probably means we have interest and someone else in mind. So I don’t see it at all, we still love Dlive and can’t wait to see him healthy.
