4. Since picking up the Chicago players, Oilers have been outhitting their opponents 60-40 in games. This is a complete turnaround from their history, except in the playoffs. Will they step up and continue punishing teams???, while letting their power play dictate the outcome? The recipe for success is in the mixing bowl, just need to see if it rises and bakes.

5. If dri plays Monday he will have been out 36 days since his injury. If he plays Wednesday it’s 38. That’s enough time to at least mostly recover assuming it’s something not requiring surgery in the offseason. He might not even be playing injured at all. The oilers gambled on resting players to get them healthy for playoffs rather than pushing to win their division.

6. Ducks in 6. Players have no pressure as they weren’t picked to be here this year. EDM needs to win now and let’s face it media pressure and fan pressure is immeasurably more intense than in ANA. But that’s my hope. Haha. Wouldn’t ever bet it. Cheers to playoff hockey!

20. Oilers historically have a very high win % in 1st rounds of the playoffs. In the non-covid era, The Oilers have not lost a round 1 playoff series since 1989. They either miss the playoffs, or they go on runs! rarely a 1st round exit. Should be a fun series, I think Dostal steals a game so I'm taking Oilers in 6. They will trade blows earlier in the series but Oilers talent and experience will take over in game 5 and 6

25. Every Ducks fan I've talked to has assured me that Dostal probably won't even start the series because he's been so bad lately. Which is surprising to me because I've often seen him stand on his head against Edmonton.
