Latest tally:

  • Cooper Flagg — 13 first place, 5 second place → 80 points
  • Kon Knueppel — 12 first place, 9 second place → 87 points
  • VJ Edgecombe — 11 third place → 11 points

So as of now, Kon is still leading on total points, but Cooper has a slight edge in first place votes (13 vs 12).

BUTTT- it is reasonable to assume that

People voting Kon 1st are probably putting Cooper 2nd and vice versa

If you apply that idea:

  • Cooper would actually have 12 second place votes (not 5)
  • Kon would have 13 second place votes (not 9)

If you recalculate points using that assumption (5 for 1st, 3 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd):

  • Cooper: (13×5) + (12×3) = 101
  • Kon: (12×5) + (13×3) = 99
  • VJ: 11

That would put Cooper slightly ahead instead.

damn this is a tight race

  1. I love hopper flagg, it doesn’t matter if he loses..we got the DAWG with us for future

  2. I love how they suddenly shifted the qualification for ROY simply because Coop is wearing the wrong shoe logo. A few years from now, we’ll look back at this travesty the way we look at Jamal Magloire’s all-star selection.

  3. So people voting Kon as rookie of year with that logic if there was a redraft they’d choose Kon #1 right? , braindead people I swear.

  4. Well yeah obviously everyone is going to vote both of them top 2, so it’s literally going to come down to who has the most 1st place votes – all the points and 2nd place votes etc. is literally irrelevant – unless 1 person votes either one of them 3rd, which they obviously won’t, it is literally impossible to win without the most 1st place votes, so that’s literally all that matters and the rest is irrelevant noise/clutter

  5. I love how I don’t even know 90% of the people that voted for Kon. Data nerds lol.

  6. Kon proved in the last games why he is no ROY. As soon as defense gets focussed, he dissappears.
