The Buffalo Sabres set a new NHL record last night
April 20, 2026
That 4 to 3 win was something else. The Sabres can score quickly and in bunches. It was a comeback game for the ages.

That’s kind of a weird stat and isn’t necessarily a “record.” The comeback was impressive though. I was in the building last night. The crowd was electric
Overly specific stats sponsored by OpenAI.
But seriously I’m here for the Buffalo glow up, it is time.
Great game! Incredible come back. I haven’t heard an arena that loud in a long time. Oh and get this. I’m a lifelong ( -B- )’s fan
Based on the videos circulating, I would have assumed the record was for highest average BAC amongst the fanbase.
“on a Sunday, when the temperature is above 10°c, and only 2 washrooms out of service.”
What is with all the wack stats in sports media these days. Every single game is going to have a unique stat if you look hard enough.
This is probably the most specific record description I have ever read. While it was impressive, it is but a candle next to the inferno of May 13, 2013 game 7 third period collapse leading to Boston winning 5-4 over Leafs in OT
Amazing game. Love the heart and fight back. Crazy considering they were being severely outshot most of that game
Jeezus it was a good comeback but we’re kinda cherry-picking these stats a bit here don’t yah think
Who did it in 9 minutes or fewer.. just curious
Those people deserved every minute of it. What a thrill ride.
Did they just keep adding qualifiers until Buffalo was the only answer? Because I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an astonishingly specific stat before.
I mean I don’t think this is that handpicked of a stat. They’re just saying this is the first postseason team to score three goals in the final 8 minutes to win after going scoreless all game
Literally anything is a stat these days
Not everything needs to be a record. Were they also the first to win in regulation while a guy ate a hot dog in the first row after finishing some nachos before the opposing team’s goalie adjusted his pads and proceeded to win a faceoff in the neutral zone? Like seriously enough with these way too specific ‘records’
Yea no that’s not cherry picked at all
There is nothing funnier than random North American sports stats
