  1. Has to be that looked like such a bad fall, I also can’t imagine what it’s like with the height the added weight, snap of it as he goes, brutal.

  2. 48 hour minimum. Here is the rest of the protocol to return.

Return-to-Participation Steps: The player must progress through steps, including stationary biking, jogging, agility drills, and non-contact team drills, without symptoms returning.

Final Clearance: The team doctor must consult with the NBA Concussion Program Director (Dr. Jeff Kutcher) before the player is cleared, removing sole authority from the team

  3. Looked awful. As someone that played college football I have seen (and experienced) what head injuries can do. It’s not pretty. Hope he recovers fast and bounces back quickly.

  4. Let him rest. That was a nasty fall. Spurs can beat this team without him. They’ll need him for the second round.

  5. imagine falling flat on your face, but your face is seven and half feet in the air

  6. The concussion is obviously terrifying but I wouldn’t be surprised if he also fractured his jaw and/or busted some of his teeth with how hard he fell. Just awful.

  7. Needs to be less wild with his drives after this. Wasn’t Jrues fault. Hope he’s okay.

  8. Spurs should be able to win without him. Concussion is no joke I would rather he take a full 10 days off

  9. Hope he gets well soon man and he made the right decision running straight to the lockeroom.

I caught 4 concussions in college (2 from elbows to the temple and 2 from landing on my neck). I ain’t take them shits serious and now my sleep is still fucked up 6 years later

  10. Should be away for a while if they follow proper protocol. He was OUT.

    That SUCKS

  11. I have had almost this exact same of whiplash concussion before. It fucking sucks. Happened at my first workplace, went to take a break in my car, fell asleep(later learned at the doctor this is pretty bad immediately following a concussion.) woke up and was extremely confused as to what I was doing and why I was there.

Hopefully he recovers quickly and ends up being fine. Sucks to happen during his debut playoff series, I’m sure he’s gonna want to rush back out there but he’s the future of the franchise, no way they should let him rush back.

  12. That looked like a bad concussion, and I thought he was out cold for a few seconds. Hopefully, he recovers by game 4.

  13. Live I thought he was exaggerating at first. Then he stayed down and I was getting worried, on that slow-mo it looked like he may have fully gone to sleep for a few seconds there. While I want my Blazers to win, I don’t want to see anyone get hurt. Especially a special talent like Wemby, I hope the speediest of recovery for him

  14. Reminder to all you dudes. Anything can happen to any team. Injuries get everyone eventually.

  15. Scary seeing anyone hit the ground face first. But it looked even worse than usual because of his height.

I will say I appreciated seeing him take himself out and putting his health first. Sports have come a long way when it comes to players caring about head injuries.
