The Los Angeles Lakers are now in trouble in their Western Conference semifinal series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They lost the first two games, and they have a number of issues to clean up on both ends of the floor as the series moves to Crypto.com Arena for Game 3 on Saturday.

They were without forward Jarred Vanderbilt during their 125-107 Game 2 loss on Thursday after he dislocated a finger in Game 1. The good news is that after he was listed as doubtful for Game 2, he is mentioned as questionable in the injury report for Game 3. Luka Doncic remains out with his hamstring strain.

For Oklahoma City, forward Jalen Williams (hamstring strain) and big man Thomas Sorber (torn ACL) remain out of action.

Los Angeles could use Vanderbilt’s defensive energy and versatility, as well as his willingness and ability to pound the boards. The team gave up 17 second-chance points and allowed the Thunder to shoot 55.6% from the field in Game 2, and that, along with L.A.’s continuing turnover problems (21 in Game 2), must change right away.
