Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard is making his much-anticipated return to the court after missing the 2025-26 season with a torn left Achilles tendon.
It’s clear his jumper is in top form, based on a recent practice, when he made 1,100 of 1,168 shots (94.2 percent).
Lillard, of course, is one of the NBA’s best clutch shooters in recent memory. He also has limitless range, which has helped him become a dominant scorer over the years.
The former Weber State star has a place in the Basketball Hall of Fame waiting for him someday thanks to a resume that includes nine All-Star Game appearances, seven All-NBA team spots and membership on the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.
Over 900 starts in 13 regular seasons, Lillard has averaged 25.1 points, 6.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. He’s also hit 2,804 three-pointers (222 more in the playoffs for 3,026 total).
Lillard is back in Portland, where he spent his first 11 seasons, after playing two years with the Milwaukee Bucks. He’ll be part of a new backcourt alongside Ja Morant, who is looking to make a comeback of his own after the two-time All-Star had a few tough seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies.
We’ll see how it works out soon enough, but it appears Lillard’s shot is ready to go when the Blazers begin the season on Oct. 21 vs. the Phoenix Suns.
