CORVALLIS, Ore. – Gonzaga men’s golfer Charlie Olson tied for 19th at the Oregon State Invitational at Trysting Tree Golf Course Tuesday.
 
Olson finished one-under (212) in the two-day, 54-hole event hosted by Oregon State. He opened the tournament with a 71 (E) in Round 1, before carding a 69 (-2) in the second round and closing one-over (72) in the final round. The junior’s 42 pars were the second-most in the 70-golfer field. Olson made 13 in Round 1, 14 in Round 2 and 15 in Round 3.
 
As a team, the Bulldogs finished 12th at 20-over (872). GU had its lowest team total of the event in the first round, shooting 288 (+4).
 
Michael Vienneau tied for 54th at five-over (218), opening the tournament with a 71 (E) in the first round. Jack Brayman carded a 70 (-1) in the final round and finished at nine-over (222) in a tie for 63rd. Bruce Chang was 10-over (223) and tied for 67th. Cooper Paull tied for 70th at 15-over (228).
 
Boise State’s Reese Knox earned medalist honors at nine-under (204). He finished one stroke ahead of three Oregon golfers who tied for second at eight-under (205). The Ducks took the team title at 17-under (835), while Boise State was second at 12-under (840).
 
Gonzaga competes in the Saint Mary’s Invitational at Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside, Calif., Oct. 19-21. Live scoring will be available on GoZags.com.
