GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Kyle Leahy, a former Colorado Mesa Maverick Pitcher is posting some major numbers in the Major Leagues.
Leahy, a native of Boulder, Colo. is seventh all-time in strikeouts for the Mavericks, pitching in Grand Junction from 2016-2018, and was selected in the Major League Baseball Draft in the 17th round by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2018.
After making his Major League debut in 2023, Leahy has bounced between MLB and the AAA level, but in 2025, the former Maverick seems to be seriously putting things together, and the numbers back it up.
In 29 appearances with the Cardinals this year, primarily out of the bullpen in the later innings, Leahy has recorded a 2.48 ERA in 36.1 innings, and recorded 27 strikeouts.
The right-hander has only allowed more than one run in one appearance, on May 24 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, in a game the Cardinals still were able to win, 6-5.
Leahy will be back in his home state facing the Rockies July 21, after the all-star break.
