A senior utility player, Champagne helped lead the Lions to an undefeated regular season and an appearance in the Division IV select semifinals as he starred both on the mound and at the plate. He received a dominant 57.41% of the vote.
Thibodaux pitcher Brody Trosclair claimed second with 33.79% of the vote. Champagne’s CCA teammate, utility player Mason Canter, clinched third place with 2.88% of the vote.
