Georgia baseball has reeled in a well-regarded transfer haul through the portal for next season.
Now, coach Wes Johnson will hope to keep those that could be on the radar of MLB teams for July’s draft.
Three transfers who have committed to Georgia — Alabama State outfielder Juan Cruz, Stanford pitcher Matt Scott and Michigan pitcher Dylan Vigue — are among 322 draft prospects listed as taking part in the MLB Draft Combine.
The event is June 17-21 at Chase Field in Phoenix. The MLB Draft is July 13-14 in Atlanta.
Players from this past season’s Georgia team that are also listed on the combine invite list include outfielder Tre Phelps and pitchers Brian Curley, Leighton Finley, Kolten Smith and Alton Davis (who put his name in the transfer portal).
Georgia recruits also listed on the MLB combine list include shortstop Daniel Pierce from Mill Creek, pitcher Joe Nottingham from Towson, Md., outfielder Ty Peeples from Franklin County, pitcher Dean Livingston from Hebron Christian Academy and shortstop Josh Gibbs from Forsyth Central.
