The Yankees’ first game of the year at Fenway Park did not go as hoped. Despite a massive game-tying home run from Aaron Judge in the ninth inning, the Yankees eventually fell to the Red Sox in the 10th, with former Yankee Carlos Narváez getting them for a walk-off hit off the Green Monster.

Tonight, the Yankees will try to bounce back in the second game from Boston, also hoping to avoid another series loss at the hands of their rival. They won the first game of their series last weekend in the Bronx but have since dropped three in a row to the Red Sox (albeit while sweeping the Royals between sets).

For tonight’s game, Carlos Rodón is set to get the start for the Yankees. In general, Rodón has been very strong of late, posting a 1.90 ERA and a 2.62 FIP since mid-April. However, his last start came against this very Red Sox team, and it didn’t go great. Boston got him for five runs and two home runs in last Sunday’s series finale in the Bronx. Even when you only allow three hits, they can be damaging when two are long balls (Narváez’s three-run shot was the crusher).

The rest of the Yankees’ lineup is a fairly normal one, especially now that Jazz Chisholm Jr. is back at third base after missing some days with a groin issue.

For the Red Sox, Hunter Dobbins will get the start. Dobbins made some headlines in saying that, as a Boston fan growing up, he never wants to play for the Yankees. That spiraled into claims that his dad had been drafted and then traded by the Yankees, which, uh, turned out to not be true. On the field, the Yankees got him for three runs, although Boston ended up winning the game.

We hope that you’ll come and join us in the game thread for the showdown, so here’s everything to know about how to catch tonight’s action.
