On Friday night, Judge delivered once again. Down to their final outs, he crushed a solo home run to center field in the top of the ninth, tying the game and sending it to extra innings. Although the Red Sox pulled out a 2-1 win, Judge’s blast was his 26th of the season, tying him with Seattle’s Cal Raleigh for the MLB lead.
His incredible start hasn’t gone unnoticed; MLB even shared a historic note during Saturday’s game in Boston, highlighting just how rare his performance has been.
Judge’s .390 batting average entering June 14 ranks as the highest ever for a player with 20 or more home runs at this point in a season. Second on that list? Mickey Mantle, who was batting .388 with 21 home runs in 1956. Babe Ruth appears on the list twice, and Judge is ahead of both of those iconic seasons.

Not only is Judge leading in home runs, but he also tops MLB in batting average. His .390 clip edges out Jacob Wilson’s .369, and his 99 hits are two more than Wilson’s 97. While Mets slugger Pete Alonso leads the majors with 63 RBIs, Judge’s 60 pace the American League, just ahead of Rafael Devers, who has 57.
As a team, the Yankees are producing well offensively. Their .257 team batting average leads the American League, while only the Dodgers (.263) are better in MLB. The Yankees have also belted 109 home runs—tops in the AL—while the Angels are second with 99.

Judge is on pace to capture his third AL MVP award, having already won it in 2022 and 2024. He’s a lock to be named to his seventh All-Star team later this season. If he finishes as the AL home run champ, it would mark the fourth time in his career.
