On Thursday and Friday, the Roswell Invaders hosted the Pecos Bills for the first two games of a three-game series. An article on game three will be released later this week. 

The Invaders entered this series with a 3-10 record and are coming off a one-game series against the Alpine Cowboys, which the Invaders lost 4-3. The Bills came in with a 6-6 record and are coming off a game against the Blackwell Flycatchers, which the Bills won 8-2. 

In game one on Thursday, both teams’ defenses started strong, with neither team allowing runs in the first three innings. Once the fourth started, the offenses woke up, with both teams combining to score 21 runs for the rest of the game. The only thing that differentiated both teams was that the Bills’ offence doubled the Invaders’ runs, winning the game with a tally of 15-6. 

The Bills had 10 hits combined as a team. Kyle Waters (3) had the most hits, three, and supplied the lone home run for the team. The Bills also committed two errors. Adam Metiver (20) was their starting pitcher, and he pitched 4.1 innings, struck out two batters, committed no walks, allowed eight hits and five runs. Four pitchers combined to finish the game, with Zack Given (30) being the winning pitcher. 

The Invaders had nine hits, with Ty Murray (8) and Sloan Laird (17) tying with the most with two. Murray (8) and Najay King (25) supplied home runs. Ervis Solis (39) was the starting pitcher and he pitched 5.1 innings, struck out six batters, walked five, allowed four hits and five runs. Four other pitchers finished the game, with Connor Wilt (9) being the losing pitcher. 

In game two, the Bills dominated. Their offense was unstoppable, scoring 22 runs in the nine innings played and more than quadrupling the runs the Invaders had, six. This made the Bills the winners of game two, with game three still needing to be played when this article was published. 

The Invaders had a total of 11 hits, with three batters tying with the most hits with two, while Michael Fisk (5) had a home run. The Invaders committed one error as a team. Tyler Rich (14) was the starting pitcher and pitched 3.1 innings, struck out two batters, walked four, allowed eight hits and nine runs. Five other pitchers finished the game, with Rich (14) considered the losing pitcher. 

The Bills had 20 hits, with Jacob Adams (8) having the most with four, while three Bills batters had home runs. Hunter Rossi (26) was the starting pitcher, pitched 6.0 innings, struck out three batters, walked two and allowed eight hits and five runs. Three other pitchers finished the game, with Rossi (26) considered the winning pitcher.Â
