Former Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Zach Pop is officially back in the MLB as he had his contract selected over the weekend by the Seattle Mariners.
The Blue Jays released Pop after being DFA at the beginning of this season in which the Mariners decided to sign him to a minor league contract a few weeks later but had yet to call him up until now.

Pop has yet to pitch in a major league game so far this season as he has been with the Marienrs minor league team in Triple-A where he has put up a 2.79 ERA in 9.2 innings pitched this season.
Within the Mariners’ minor league system, he delivered a 2.79 ERA with a 4.31 FIP and 8.38 K/9. He recovered from some elbow inflammation too and now that he is healthy, Seattle will try him out at the big league level. -Dionis
The Mariners announced this morning that they have decided to call up Pop from the minors and selected his contract while they have optioned pitcher Logan Evans to Triple-A.Roster moves:
Zach Pop, RHP, selected from Triple-A Tacoma.

40-man roster is now at 39 players.
Now Pop will join Seattle’s bullpen. Hopefully he does well with them and as we wish things worked out in Toronto, we can only wish him the best over there. At least whenever he pitches against teams not named the Blue Jays. -Dionis
Hopefully this time in the minors helped Pop relocate his game back to the pitcher he was during the 2022 season where he finished with a 2.77 ERA n 39 innings pitched and 25 strikeouts.
