The CV Lady Indians (6-7) won a road thriller this past week over the Williamson Lady Warriors (8-6) as they outlasted their opponent in a 9-8 extra-inning battle on Thursday, May 1 to win their second-straight contest.

After falling behind 2-0 in the second inning, the CV girls quickly rallied back to take a 4-2 lead with a four-run third while adding another run in the fourth to go up 5-2, but the Lady Warriors continued to battle back as they took the lead back in the bottom of the frame at 6-5 with a four-run inning.

CV regained the lead again in the sixth with three runs before Williamson drew even in the bottom of the inning with two more runs to tie things at eight.

After a scoreless seventh, the CV team would get the one run they needed in the top of the eighth before shutting down Williamson and completing the extra-inning victory by a final score of 9-8.

It was a hitting clinic for both sides during the game, with Williamson holding the edge at 13-12 in hits but the CV girls were able to make the most of their chances as they plated nine runs in the win.

Lilah LaBarron turned in a three-hit, three-run scored and one RBI night, while Zeraya Wilson also recorded three hits and three runs scored while recording a double.

Ashley Woodring recorded a team-high four RBIs with a home run while recording two hits and two runs scored in a huge night for the senior.

Raegan Watson finished with two hits, one RBI, two runs scored, and one double, while Cassidy Anderson scored one run in the win for the Lady Indians.

For Williamson, they were paced by a three-RBI, two-hit night from Lexi Smalley, who also scored a run, while Olivia Gee finished two two hits, one RBI, and a double in the loss.

Laila Hackett added two hits and two runs scored, Kaegan Short recorded two hits, one double, and one run scored, while Kenna Thomas added two hits and two RBIs.

Alexis Sprague, Aubree Roe, and Joelie Stephens each had hits while Stephen added two RBIs in the effort as well.

On the mound for CV, LeBarron picked up the win going the full eight innings, striking out seven batters, allowing 13 hits, eight runs (six earned), while walking four batters.

Thomas went the full eight innings, allowing 11 hits, nine runs (six earned), and striking out nine in a loss for the Lady Warriors.

CV is back in action, after a slew of postponements, on Thursday, May 8, when they host the undefeated Athens Lady Wildcats at 4:30 p.m.
