During a recent interview, Martinez confirmed that he is taking some scheduled time off but is expected to make his return to the booth for the Blue Jays homestand against the New York Yankees, starting on June 30th.

Martinez added that he will be back for that series but is expected to miss the majority of July as well for his 50th anniversary but is schedule to do 100 games this season.

«I’m taking some scheduled time off,» Martinez told the Toronto Sun on Monday. «But I’ll be back for that homestand (against the Yankees). And then I’ll have a good chunk of July off for my 50th anniversary. My schedule is to do 100 games.» -Martinez

While Martinez is out, Joe Siddall and Caleb Joseph will continue to take turns replacing Martinez for the time being as Dan Shulman continues to be the play by play announcer.

In the interim, studio analysts Joe Siddall (who called the three weekend games in Minnesota) and Caleb Joseph (who tags in for the St. Louis stop) will take turns filling the air alongside play-by-play voice Dan Shulman. -Longley

Fans can now take it easy and not worry about why Martinez has been missing in action over the past few weeks.
