CHICAGO — The Brewers are back on TW on Tuesday to open a three-game series against the National League Central-leading Chicago Cubs.

The Crew sit 5.5 games behind their archrivals to the south, and some wins at Wrigley Field would go a long way in building momentum with the All-Star break less than a month away.

June has been up-and-down for the Brewers. They won three of their first four games to start the month, lost back-to-back home series against San Diego and Atlanta, but just took three of four against St. Louis last week.

Similarly, the Cubs opened June with three wins out of four then lost back-to-back road series to Detroit and Philadelphia. Chicago won three out of four against Pittsburgh last week.

The two rivals last crossed paths in early May at American Family Field. Chicago put the Brewers to the sword in the first two games, winning 10-0 then 6-2. Milwaukee clawed one back in the third game, winning 4-0 thanks to great pitching from Freddy Peralta and clutch hitting from Daz Cameron.

Scheduled to start for Milwaukee on Tuesday is right-hander Chad Patrick, who boasts a 1.26 WHIP and a 3.25 ERA over 14 starts in his first season in the big leagues. This will be his first-ever game against the Cubs.

Patrick had a rough time in his last outing on June 11, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits including 2 home runs over 5 innings of play against Atlanta. He did tally a season-high 8 strikeouts in the loss.

Ben Brown is set to start for the Cubs. He had a similarly rough time in his last start, allowing 6 runs on 8 hits with 3 walks over 5.2 innings against Philadelphia on June 11.

Through 12 starts this season, Brown has a 1.47 WHIP and a 5.71 ERA. He has two previous starts against the Brewers, and earned a win in one of them. He has struck out 14 batters over 13 innings against the Crew, allowing just 4 hits.

Tuesday’s game is set to start at 7:05 p.m. CT and can be viewed live on TW (WISC 3.2)
