PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – The Pittsburgh Pirates ended the rehab assignment of right-handed pitcher Dauri Moreta, reinstated him from the 60-day injured list, and optioned him to Triple-A Indianapolis.
In a corresponding roster move, the team has designated catcher Brett Sullivan for assignment.
Moreta last appeared in a Major League game back in 2023. He has spent parts of three seasons in the Major Leagues with both Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.
He owns a career record of 5-4 with a 4.32 ERA. In 100 innings, he has allowed 23 earned runs with 39 strikeouts.
Sullivan appeared in three games with Pittsburgh since being promoted to the MLB roster.
He went 1-6 with a walk and three strikeouts in limited action.
The Pirates are off on Monday night and will return to action at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday in Detroit.
