Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers (31-37, 9.5 games back)

The Storm Chasers have caught fire, sweeping their six-game set with Toledo, giving up just three runs in their last five games. Thomas Hatch picked up his third win on Thursday, tossing six shutout innings with just two hits, earning Interrnational League Pitcher of the Week honors. John Gant allowed just one run over six innings to earn his first win. Chandler Champlain pitched five shutout innings in a rain-shortened game on Friday. Rich Hill improved to 3-0 with nine strikeouts in five innings on Saturday. Kyle Wright tossed four shutout innings with six strikeouts in a rehab outing on Sunday.

Joey Wiemer got his average over the Mendoza Line by going 9-for-16 with two home runs and a steal. Luca Tresh hit his fifth home run, going 4-for-13 (.308). Dairon Blanco hit a grand slam on Thursday, one of his two home runs for the week, and he stole two more bases to give him 13 in 31 games. Cavan Biggio was 7-for-20 (.350) with a triple and a home run. Cam Devanney was 6-for-22 (.273) with a double, triple, steal, and five walks, and he started a game in left field.

Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals (32-31, 6 games back)

The Naturals split their six games with the in-state rival Arkansas Travelers. Rudy Martin was 8-for-21 (.381) with his first home run and two more steals to give him 20 in 27 games. Spencer Nivens was 7-for-20 (.350) with three doubles and three steals. Brett Squires was 9-for-24 (.375) with three doubles, two triples, and 6 RBI. Carter Jensen continues to be red-hot, hitting 10-for-25 (.400) for the week with his fifth home run of the year. He’s hitting .385 for the month and his .295 average overall is eighth in the Texas League.

Shane Panzini picked up his first with five shutout innings with seven strikeouts, no walks, and just one hit. Hunter Owen gave up just one run with six strikeouts in five innings to improve to 3-2. Ethan Bosacker returned to the Naturals to toss five shutout innings in relief on Friday. Ben Kudrna gave up just one unearned run over six innings on Saturday.

The Naturals activated Diego Hernandez and Stephen Zobac from the Injured List, but lost infielder Jordan Groshans to injury. They also transferred Natanael Garabitos to the development list.

High-A Quad Cities River Bandits (38-25, first place)

The River Bandits are streaking, winning five games in a row and taking the series from Beloit. Carson Roccaforte had four steals to give him 27 for the year, third-most in the Midwest League. Sam Kulasingam was 7-for-30 (.350) with three doubles and 6 RBI, and he is hitting .405 for the month. Callan Moss smacked his fifth home run of the year and enjoyed a three-RBI day on Saturday. Daniel Vazquez returned from injury with a four-hit day on Wednesday and was 8-for-22 (.364) for the week with three doubles.

Hunter Patteson improved to 5-1, allowing just one hit and one run in 5 1/3 innings on Friday. Logan Martin also won his fifth, giving up one run over five with no walks on Saturday. Drew Beam gave up two runs in six innings with five strikeouts. Zachary Cawyer pitched three shutout innings in relief with three strikeouts. AJ Causey picked up a win and a save with 2 2⁄3 innings of shutout relief.

Low-A Columbia Fireflies (34-29, first place)

The Fireflies won five of six this week against Kannapolis and have a two-game lead on first place. Brennon McNair was 5-for-18 (.278) with two home runs and three walks. Milo Rushford was 3-for-10 (.300) with three walks and his first home run of the year. Stone Russell was 3-for-13 (.321) with four walks and a home run. Dionmy Salon filled in for injured catcher Ramon Ramirez and hit 5-for-10 (.500) with a double. Asbel Gonzalez was 5-for-18 (.278) with four walks and three steals, giving him 46 for the year.

Yeri Perez pitched four shutout innings on Thursday. Fraynel Nova pitched 4 1⁄3 innings of shutout ball in relief. Dennis Colleran picked up a win in relief, striking out six in four innings over two outings. Jordan Woods tossed five shutout innings with five strikeouts on Wednesday. The Fireflies activated catcher Hyungchan Um from the Injured List.
