Former Dodgers David Ross Predicted to Land Manager Job With Atlanta Braves originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

The Atlanta Braves, one of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ biggest rivals, could be looking for a new head coach at the end of the season. Brian Snitker is one of the more well-respected coaches in Major League Baseball, but he’s getting up there in age, and with the Braves playing how they have, it wouldn’t be surprising to see both sides part ways.

Searching for potential replacements, Eric Cole predicted that David Ross, who played for the Dodgers from 2002 to 2004, could potentially replace the potential Hall of Fame head coach.

“David Ross checks a lot of boxes,” wrote Cole. “He is an extremely respected former player, seemed beloved by his players when he was manager before getting unceremoniously dumped by the Cubs, and it seems like he would be a blend of old school as well as a guy that would use analytics. On top of that, he doesn’t have a coaching job currently and played for the organization for four seasons. Ross does have three kids and he may not be itching to get back on the road again as a result, but the Braves should at least give him a call.”

Ross doesn’t have extensive coaching experience, having only managed the Chicago Cubs from 2020 to 2023. After spending time in 15 big league seasons, however, and winning a World Series, there’s reason to believe he could be a decent option for the Braves.

Ultimately, Atlanta has to start putting together a more talented roster, taking the approach that the Dodgers have, and be willing to spend money.
