New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge is on pace to win the AL MVP award, but not if he keeps playing like he has against the Los Angeles Angels this series. The future Hall of Famer is 1-for-11 with two walks over the past three games and is 2-for-23 with a solo homer, including New York’s previous series against the Boston Red Sox.

The Yankees have now lost six straight games and will get swept for the second straight series if they lose to the Angels again on Thursday.
A reporter asked manager Aaron Boone what he’s seeing from Judge in his “first prolonged slump of the year,” via SNY.

“Is it though?” he asked. “What’s today, Wednesday? I mean, Monday night he hit two rockets and had a couple walks. He goes 0-for, and it’s a slump. Maybe he’s missed a couple pitches.”
“It’s a hard game. I don’t know if I really see it that way,” he continued. “He’s not gonna get two hits every day…It happens. He’ll continue to make adjustments like he always does, like he’s always doing whether he’s doing really well, whether he hits a little rough patch. He’ll continue to do that.”
Southpaw Carlos Rodon (8-5, 3.01 ERA) will start for New York on Thursday against Los Angeles southpaw Tyler Anderson (2-4, 4.44 ERA).

After that game, the Yankees will host the Baltimore Orioles before hitting the road to play the Cincinnati Reds. They will then host the Athletics before playing the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets on the road.
