On Tuesday, the Roswell Invaders hosted the Garden City Wind for the second matchup of a two-game series.

The Invaders entered Game 2 with a record of 4-13, while the Wind entered with a 14-2 record. Game 1 took place on Monday, and the Wind defeated the Invaders with a tally of 11-5.

In Game 2, the Invaders jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the end of the first inning. Their lead would last until the top of the third inning, where the Wind would score 11 runs to go up 11-3. For the rest of the game, the Wind would hold on to control of the game and score four more runs to notch the win with a tally of 15-6. The Wind’s record jumped to 15-2, while the Invaders’ record fell to 4-14.

The Invaders had eight total hits, and their batters were walked seven times. Sebastian Velez (17) led the team in hits, with three, and Shane Marrow (16) had a home run. On defense, they committed two errors. The starting pitcher was Angel Rios (35), and he pitched 2.2 innings, struck out one batter, walked four and allowed eight hits and 11 runs. Three other pitchers finished the game, with Rois (35) being marked as the losing pitcher.

The Wind had a total of 16 hits, and 11 of their batters were walked. Jason Rooks led the team with five hits, one of which was also a home run. On defense, they committed no errors. Will Hahnfeld (4) was the starting pitcher, and he lasted 5.0 innings, struck out four batters, walked three, allowed six hits and four runs. Jeremiah Williams (14) and Gavin Peterson (54) combined to finish the game on the mound, with Hahnfeld (4) being marked as the winning pitcher.

The Invaders had a game on Wednesday against the Pecos Bills, where the Invaders lost 8-6. An article on that game will be released later this week. On Thursday night, the Invaders started a three-game series in Tucson, Arizona, against the Tucson Saguaros. A final score from Thursday night’s game in Tucson was not available at press time.
