The White Sox promoted Wikelman González on Friday, making him the third ex-Red Sox prospect from the Garrett Crochet trade to make the major leagues this season.

The Red Sox traded four players — González, Kyle Teel, Chase Meidroth and Braden Montgomery — to Chicago for Crochet on Dec. 11.

Meidroth was promoted April 11 and made his debut vs. Boston. Teel was called up June 6.

Gonzalez, a hard-throwing 23-year-old righty, began the season at Double-A Birmingham before being promoted to Triple-A Charlotte on April 29.

In 12 relief appearances for Charlotte, Gonzalez posted a 5-0 record with a 2.75 ERA (19 ⅔ innings, six earned runs), 1.22 WHIP and one hold. He allowed just nine hits and opponents batted .138 against him.

But control — as it was in the Red Sox system — was an issue. He had 15 walks compared to 18 strikeouts in his 19 ⅔ innings.

Meidroth, a 23-year-old second baseman, has a .274/.355/.332/.687 line with two homers, five doubles, nine RBIs, 23 runs, 24 walks and 31 strikeouts in 52 games (214 plate appearances) for the White Sox.

Teel, a 23-year-old catcher, has posted a .240/.375/.240/.615 line with one RBI, three runs, six walks and 10 strikeouts in 10 games (32 plate appearances).
