The social media influencer noticed when Paws called her out during Thursday’s game.

At least Paws shot his shot.

The rascally Detroit Tigers mascot could be seen behind home plate at Comerica Park during the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates holding up a sign reading, “Sup Livvy Dunne.” The sign was surrounded by nine red hearts and quickly got the attention of fans, and even Dunne herself, on social media.

For those who don’t know, Dunne is the girlfriend of Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes, who was on the mound at the time. Dunne, a hugely popular social-media influencer and star with 5.4 million Instagram followers, is a gymnast at LSU, whose mascot is a Tiger, which is relevant to this story. That’s where Dunne and Skenes, an LSU alum, met.

Paws’ sign eventually made its way to Dunne herself, who responded to his shoutout on X, and managed to let him down gently.

“Sorry…not my type of tiger,” she wrote, along with a shrugging emoji.

Her post was viewed more than 1 million times by the end of Thursday.

Oh well, Paws can’t say he didn’t try.

For Paws, it’s actually the latest incident where he’s been seen getting frisky with opposing teams, holding a homemade sign behind home plate during gameplay. During the June 13 game against the Cincinnati Reds, he held up a sign denigrating Skyline Chili, the popular-in-Cincy dish of spaghetti noodles topped with chili and a mountain of shredded cheddar cheese.

“Skyline Chili is mid,” read Paws’ sign, which also garnered plenty of attention on social media, but no official reaction from the Skyline chain.

Paws also joined Ludacris on stage during the Atlanta rapper’s postgame concert June 13.

Dunne, 22, and Skenes, 23, met at LSU, before Skenes became the No. 1 overall pick by the Pirates in 2023. Dunne also was a cover model on this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

The Tigers ended up splitting Thursday’s doubleheader with the Pirates, losing the second game, 8-4, as Skenes went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out nine.

That gave Dunne the last laugh, at least for now.
