With just two series remaining in SEC baseball play, Texas A&M improved its postseason hopes after taking the series last weekend from then-ranked No. 2 LSU. The Aggies are not out of the woods, still needing to win at least three of the next six games to be considered for a regional spot.
Texas A&M secured a pivotal SEC baseball series victory against LSU, splitting the first two games before Caden Sorrell’s clutch three-run home run propelled the Aggies to a 6-4 lead in the decisive matchup. Weston Moss, recovering from an illness, shut down LSU’s offense in the ninth inning, retiring three straight batters and delivering a much-needed win for Texas A&M.
Now, as the Missouri Tigers come to Bryan-College Station, the Aggies have an opportunity to strengthen their SEC standings. A series sweep would push Texas A&M to 13 conference wins, setting the team up for a more relaxed approach heading into the final weekend of SEC play.
For Coach Michael Earley, his inaugural season as head coach has presented plenty of challenges, but with the SEC Tournament and NCAA baseball postseason approaching, the pressure is mounting. Texas A&M must capitalize on the upcoming matchups to solidify its position among college baseball’s elite.
