It’s Monday, June 23rd and after the Oklahoma City Thunder finished the job in game seven of the NBA Finals last night, we have officially entered the dog days of summer. With the NBA’s season over, the MLB is now under the spotlight until September. With that being said, we have a bunch of games to keep busy with with plenty of potential.
First Pick: Los Angeles Angels +1.5
Rundown: The Angels have been playing competitive baseball lately, even when they’re underdogs, covering the spread in 6 of their last 8. They’re getting just enough offense to stay in games, and their bullpen has quietly improved. Facing a team that doesn’t consistently blow opponents out, the +1.5 cushion feels like a strong value. This looks like another close one — and the Angels should keep it within a run.
Second Pick: Aaron Judge 2+ Bases
Rundown: Judge has been on an absolute tear, slugging .680 over the past two weeks and hitting the ball to all fields. Although his batting average has been on a slow decline this month, he is still the centerpiece of the Yankees’ offense and has managed to find ways to get on. He also matches up well against tonight’s starter, who struggles against right-handed power. If Judge gets a couple of good swings, this one should cash early.
Third Pick: Seattle Mariners Moneyline
Rundown: The Mariners have won 6 of their last 9 and are back to looking like a legitimate team that can make a run in the American League. Their starting pitcher has allowed just 3 earned runs in his last three outings and matches up well with a struggling lineup. Seattle’s bullpen has also been sharp, ranking top 5 in ERA over the past two weeks. In a tight game, they have the arms and timely bats to come out on top.
Parlay of the Day: New York Yankees Moneyline and San Diego Padres Moneyline
Rundown: After a dramatic comeback win yesterday, the Yankees have seemed to get out of their June funk. New York showed against Baltimore that they had finally gotten it together after a brutal first few weeks of June. Pairing them with the Padres, who have won their last few games, and are finally getting healthy, makes for a strong combo. San Diego’s offense has come alive recently, and they have the pitching edge tonight. This parlay leans on two teams with firepower and good momentum.
