For the eighth time in school history, the LSU Tigers have won the College World Series.The Tigers clinched the National Championship with a 5-3 win in Game 2 of the Championship series against Coastal Carolina.LSU won Game 1 on Saturday night, 1-0, and Sunday, the Tigers were dominant.The Chanticleers struck first in the bottom of the 2nd inning, when Dean Mihos hit a solo home run.The Tigers tied it in the top of the 3rd inning, when Ethan Frey doubled to left field, scoring a run.The next inning, LSU took control when Chris Stanfield singled to left, scoring two runs. The Tigers weren’t done, plating two more when Derek Curiel singled to center, making it 5-1 LSU.Coastal Carolina got back into the game when Wells Skyes hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the 7th, 5-3 LSU.With a chance to tie the game, Wells Skyes with Coastal Carolina hit into a double play, ending the game.
