WE’RE GOING TO WIN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. LSU BASEBALL HAS A PROUD TRADITION OF WINNING ON THE FIELD AND IN THE STANDS. NOW. THIS YEAR, THEIR MOST POPULAR FAN IS MELTING HEARTS IN OMAHA PURPLE AND ESPECIALLY GOLD RUNS THROUGH HIS BLOOD. AND AS OUR MATT SOTTILE TELLS US, HE COULD BE THE KEY TO THE TIGERS WINNING A NATIONAL Câ–ˆHAMPIONSHIP. EVERYBODY IS EMBRACING, EVERYBODY LOVES THEM. THEY COME UP AND ASK IF THEY CAN PET THEM AND THEY WANT TO TAKE PICTURES WITH THEM. SO IT’S BEEN KIND OF FUN. LSU’S BREAKOUT STAR OF THE COLLEGE WORLD SERIES SPENDS HIS TIME IN THE STANDS. LSU, WHERE HE SITS, STAYS AND ISN’T AFRAID TO BARK AT THE OTHER TEAM. HIS NAME IS BO, AND HE’S FRESHMAN OUTFIELDER DEREK CURIEL’S, FOUR-LEGGED BEST FRIEND. DEREK PICKED HIM FROM A LITTER WHEN HE WAS ABOUT EIGHT WEEKS OLD. THIS IS DEREK’S DOG. AFTER A ROUGH SIX MONTHS AWAY FROM HIS OWNER, DEREK’S MOM, LINDA FETCHED BO A PLANE TICKET FROM CALIFORNIA TO OMAHA FOR THE COLLEGE WORLD SERIES. GOOD BOY, GOOD BOY. I HAD NO IDEA THAT HE WAS COMING OUT. HE’S MY BEST FRIEND. HE’S FOUR YEARS OLD. I HAVEN’T SEEN HIM IN SIX MONTHS BECAUSE I’VE BEEN AT LSU. MY MOM SURPRISED ME WITH HIM BECAUSE SHE KNEW I MISSED HIM AND HE’S A PART OF MY FAMILY, SO I’M SUPER HAPPY TO HAVE BO HERE. CURIEL WAS A TOP TEN PROSPECT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL AND WITHDREW FROM THE MLB DRAFT TO PLAY AT LSU, JUST LIKE HIS OWNER, BO IS CALM, UNDER PRESSURE AND ALWAYS MAKES TIME FOR THE FANS. HE’S JUST SO LOVING AND EVERYBODY HAS JUST EMBRACED HIM. WE DIDN’T EXPECT THAT AT ALL. WE HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, BUT IT’S BEEN A IT’S BEEN FUN AND ON THE BIGGEST STAGE OF HIS CAREER, WE’VE WORKED OUR WORKED OUR — OFF FOR THE LAST 11 MONTHS TO BE HERE. AND NOW WE GET TO PLAY, HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES. HE’LL HAVE HIS WHOLE FAMILY CHEERING HIM ON. HE’S PREPARED FOR ALL OF THIS AND JUST HAVING BO THERE AND US BEING PRESENT HAS BEEN OUR NUMBER ONE GOAL AS A FAMILY. WE ARE BEHIND HIM NO MATTER WHAT. WHEREVER HE GOES, WE GO. REPORTING IN OMAHA M
