The Yankees will look to continue their climb out of the mid-June hole they dug, this time with a three-game set in Cincinnati with the Reds. After losing six straight games, and seven of eight, the Yankees rebounded with a couple of good wins against the Orioles to close out their weekend series.

They now have a quick turnaround with a game in Southern Ohio the very next day, as they are set to take on a Reds team that has hovered around .500, but is coming off of a tough series against the Cardinals.

Before they kick things off, here’s a look at the probable pitchers for these two long-storied franchises.

Monday: Allan Winans vs. Nick Lodolo (7:10 pm ET)

Allan Winans gets the first crack at the Reds in this series, stepping in for the injured Ryan Yarbrough. Winans will be making his Yankee debut, and only his eighth career big league start. He has a 7.20 ERA in 40 MLB innings, but has been electric with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. There, he’s managed a sparkling 0.90 ERA across 50 total innings, striking out 59 batters to just 13 walks. He and his four-pitch mix, which relies heavily on the changeup, will look to make a good impression Monday evening.

The Yankees will be facing with left-hander Nick Lodolo. The 6-foot-6 27-year-old has always been undoubtedly talented, but has been unable to remain healthy or consistent through his four seasons with the Reds. This year has gone mostly well for Lodolo, despite the downward trend in his strikeout numbers, and he’s coming off of a solid start against the Twins, where he tossed six innings of two-run ball.

Tuesday: Carlos Rodón vs. Nick Martinez (7:10 pm ET)

Carlos Rodón will get the ball in the second game, hoping to continue what has been his best season in pinstripes. His ERA and FIP are still in the best shape they’ve been since his dominant run in 2021-22, and he’s boasting a strikeout rate of 30 percent. This is despite 11 earned runs and five homers over his last three starts (16 IP), so he’ll look to turn a corner against the Reds lineup on Tuesday.

He’ll square off with Nick Martinez for the Reds, who had a major breakout in 2024, but has been shaky in his 85 innings this season. The inflated ERA is due mostly to his recent run of starts, in which he allowed 20 earned runs across five outings. He actually pitched a pair of scoreless innings in relief this weekend against the Cards, which could be the tune-up he needed.

Wednesday: Max Fried vs. Brady Singer (7:10 pm ET)

The other Yankees lefty will take the hill to cap this series off. He has simply been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, boasting a 2.05 ERA and a sub-3 FIP in the fourth largest workload in baseball. His last outing, against the O’s, was a decent one, as he struck out seven across six innings, though he did allow three earned runs on seven hits.

The Reds will finish things up with Brady Singer on the mound. The former first-round pick, now in a new home, enjoyed a successful 2024 with KC, and his time with the Reds has been solid on the whole in 2025. His strikeout and walk numbers have moved a bit in the wrong direction, but he’s stayed afloat nonetheless, and is coming off of an excellent six inning, one run, seven strikeout performance against the Tigers.
