Phillies Trade Idea Lands 77-Home Run Slugger After Bryce Harper Injury News originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Trade ideas involving the Philadelphia Phillies and first basemen began long before Bryce Harper hit the injured list with a wrist injury.

Those rumors initially involved ex-Phillies slugger Rhys Hoskins, who is quietly enjoying a solid bounceback campaign with the Milwaukee Brewers. Although adding a first baseman still makes sense, perhaps the Phillies are better off finding a new face rather than staging a reunion.
In fact, the Phillies might not even need to look beyond the East Coast. The Baltimore Orioles figure to be sellers ahead of the July 31 deadline, and veteran first baseman Ryan O’Hearn should expect to find himself on the move amid a career season.
If you don’t know O’Hearn yet, you’ll likely hear his name often in the coming weeks. O’Hearn, who turns 32 in July, is hitting .305 with 10 home runs, 29 RBIs, and a .867 OPS for the disappointing Orioles.

O’Hearn and the Phillies are a theoretical match made in heaven, especially after Harper acknowledged he’s still unsure when he’ll rejoin the team. O’Hearn checks every box the Phillies should have; he’s a left-handed hitter who can play first base, move to DH, or even play the outfield if need be.

Most importantly, O’Hearn should come at a reasonable price. This isn’t a Jarren Duran trade idea where the Phillies would hypothetically give up top prospect Andrew Painter, nor would they part ways with All-Star outfielder Nick Castellanos.
O’Hearn is a lifetime .251 hitter with 77 homers and 2.3 bWAR, 1.7 of which has come this year. Something is clicking right now, and the Phillies should try taking advantage before O’Hearn’s likely regression.
