Well. The Rangers couldn’t string together two weeks of a good thing.

Coming home to face the Royals, the Rangers didn’t really show up. Now headed to Baltimore, Texas will meet the halfway mark of the season. They’re currently seven games back from first place int he divisions, behind the Houston Astros, and two games out from a wild card spot.

Almost exactly where they were this time last season. In 2024, they were in third place, 6.5 games back, and 37-41.

While I can stay optimistic about this team for probably longer than I should, the window is very quickly closing on the season.

The Rangers need to sweep the Orioles, the Phillies and Cubs could do Texas some favors by at least winning the series against Houston. Then at the very least, the Rangers could help themselves by winning the series against Seattle over the weekend.

But I guess it depends on which Rangers team shows up this week.
