ANAHEIM, Calif. – Facing a righthander again, the Red Sox will have both Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer back in the starting lineup Monday night when they face the Los Angeles Angels in the first of three at Angel Stadium.
Alex Cora has limited the rookies exposures to lefties in the last few weeks but has pretty much committed to having them in the lineup when the team faces a right,y as they will be Monday night in the person of rookie Jack Kochanowicz.
Elsewhere, the Sox have Jarren Duran back in the leadoff spot and Trevor Story hitting fifth.
Connor Wong, who has lost playing time to Carlos Narvaez in the last month, is behind the plate in the series opener.
The Sox carry a two-game losing streak into Monday night, having dropped the final two matchups with the San Francisco Giants over the weekend. The consecutive losses are the first in a couple of weeks after the Sox had won four consecutive series before their visit to Oracle Park.
The Sox are 3-3 on their current West Coast road swing.
