The White Sox are back home after a quick trip up north to host a team to the West, the Diamondbacks.

Before we get to the lineup construction, a few positive things were shared:

Shane Smith (3-3), who sits with an ERA of 2.85, gets the start this evening. Andrew Benintendi, who has been playing well lately, is not in the lineup tonight, replaced by Austin Slater. Miguel Vargas will be at first, and Luis Robert Jr. has moved up ever-so-slightly in the batting order.

The Diamondbacks picked up an old friend today. He won’t be catching tonight, but perhaps we’ll see James McCann during this series.

Eduardo Rodríguez (2-4) will start for Arizona. Rodríguez has an elevated ERA of 5.93, so ideally the South Siders will add to that.
