Good morning, baseball fans!
Voting for the the first phase of the 2025 MLB All-Star Game ends later this week. Yesterday, a new update was released for the voting thus far, so let’s take a look at how the San Francisco Giants stack up against the competition.
As a reminder, we are doing a push for Matt Chapman, Wilmer Flores, Heliot Ramos, Jung Hoo Lee and Rafael Devers.
Here is how those players are currently doing in the votes:
Matt Chapman: 8th place among NL third basemen with 317,021 votes
Wilmer Flores: 9th place among NL first basemen with 111,500 votes
Heliot Ramos: 19th place among NL outfielders with 243,205 votes
Jung Hoo Lee: Still not ranked among NL outfielders
Rafael Devers: 2nd place among NL designated hitters with 1,103,085 votes
As of the last time we got a voting update, the only player that even cracked the top five at their position was Devers, who was half a million votes behind Shohei Ohtani. Unfortunately that gap has only widened, with Ohtani now sitting 1.5 million votes ahead of Devers in the latest update.
I think it’s safe to say that there will not be any Giants in the starting lineup this year, but stranger things have happened so I’m not ready to give up just yet.
At this point, I would like to shift our focus to voting for Devers, Chapman and Flores. So don’t forget to vote and let’s see if we can’t give them a little bit more of an edge as we approach the finish line!
