The bidistrict round of the 2025 UIL baseball playoffs are underway for El Paso teams. Play resumes Friday after Thursday’s opening games.

Thursday, May 1Class 6A, Division 1Midland Legacy rallied from 8-1 down to defeat Pebble Hills, 10-8, in the first game of the best two of three series.Socorro used a seven-run third inning to propel it to a 10-8 win at Odessa Permian in the first game of the best two of three series.Class 6A, Division 2Frenship defeated Eastwood, 10-0, in the first game of the best two of three series.Coronado defeated Midland High, 8-6, in the first game of the best two of three series. Walt Mann hit a home run and Ryan Salcedo had a go-ahead RBI in the sixth inning to lead Coronado.Class 5A, Division 1El Dorado defeated El Paso High, 8-5, in the first game of the best two of three series.Americas defeated Chapin, 15-1, in the first game of the best two of three series.Class 5A, Division 2Del Valle defeated Andress, 9-2, in the opener of the three-game series. Bryan Garcia was the winning pitcher, went six innings and allowed just two hits.Horizon defeated Canutillo, 16-2, opener of the three-game series, Franklin Miller was the winning pitcher and struckout 10. Jakob Mapula drove in four runs to help lead the Horizon offense.Class 4A, Division 1Ysleta won the opening game of the three-game series vs. San Elizario, 18-0. Santiago Osorio was the winning pitcher and struckout five, Evan Martinez drove in three runs and Derek Licon scored two runs for Ysleta.Mountain View won the opening game of the three-game series vs. Austin, 7-1. Samuel Gutierrez was the winning pitcher and both Diego Peinado and Nayden Cervantes had three hits to lead the Lobos offense.Class 4A, Division 2Riverside defeated Fabens, 11-1, in the opener of the best two of three series. Jose Padilla was the winning pitcher and Jose Fuentes and Jose Padilla led the Riverside offense with three runs batted in apiece.Clint edged Bowie in the opener of the best two of three series, 3-2. Joe Aranda struckout 11 batters to pick up the win on the mound for Clint.Friday, May 2Class 6A, Division 1Odessa Permian defeated Socorro, 7-0, to even the best two of three series at one game apiece.Pebble Hills was eliminated by Midland Legacy in three games. Pebble Hills won the second game of the series, 12-10, then Legacy won the deciding game, 5-4.Class 6A, Division 2Eastwood saw its season end as Frenship advances to area after a 9-7 win. Brandon Gomez had three hits and had three runs batted in to lead the Eastwood offense.Coronado advances to the area round after defeating Midland High, 8-4. AJ Rivas doubled in two runs in the seventh for Coronado to break a 3-3 tie.Class 5A, Division 1El Dorado defeated El Paso High, 15-3, and advances to the area round.Americas defeated Chapin, 10-0, and advances to the area round.Class 5A, Division 2Del Valle advances to the area round with a 10-0 win vs. Andress. Isaiah Gonzalez was the winning pitcher and struckout six in the process.Horizon is headed to the area round after eliminating Canutillo. Canutillo forced a deciding third game with a 2-1 victory, but the Scorpions bounced back with a 10-0 win for their third straight bidistrict title.Class 4A, Division 1Ysleta eliminated San Elizario with a 14-2 win. Tavo Sanchez drove in four runs to help lead Ysleta.Mountain View eliminated Austin, 10-0. Nayden Cervantes and Ethan Martinez each drove in three runs for the Lobos.Class 4A, Division 2Riverside eliminated Fabens by a score of 15-4. Joaquin Ferreyra was the winning pitcher for the Rangers.Clint eliminated Bowie with a 19-1 win. Oscar Maldonado led Clint with three hits, a home run and two runs batted in.Class 3A, Division 1
Anthony was eliminated by Odessa Compass Academy, losing 11-8 and 9-8.
Saturday, May 3Class 6A, Division 1Odessa Permian is headed to the area round after edging Socorro, 2-1.
