The Vacaville Christian High baseball team defeated Foresthill 8-5 on Thursday afternoon to move on to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 7 semifinals.

The Falcons will play Valley Christian at home on Monday night at home with a 6 p.m. scheduled first pitch.

On Thursday the Falcons led 6-3 after four innings but saw Foresthill get within a run at 6-5 in the sixth inning. Vacaville Christian added two runs in the bottom half of the frame to create some breathing room in the win.

Evan Varty had two hits, including a double to go with two RBI and two runs for the Falcons. Zachary Romeo had two hits and an RBI, while Griffin McGrath and Isaac Stanley each had a hit. Aiden Stevens and Dylan Eddings each had a hit, while Eddings also scored a run.

Vacaville Christian stole nine bases as a team, with Eddings stealing three of them. Varty had two of his own.

The offense was more than enough for Eddings, Stevens and Aron Kagin, who all combined to throw seven innings for the win. Kagin went 2 and 2/3 and struck out four.
