OSKALOOSA — The Oskaloosa Indians and the Collins-Maxwell Spartans battled in a back and forth contest for three and one half innings with neither team being able to take command. The Indians led by a slim 7-6 margin going into the bottom of the fourth when they dropped the hammer and nailed down a 16-6 win.
The Indians accepted all gifts in the inning as the C-M pitcher and their defense crumbled. The Tribe scored nine runs without a hit as the Spartan defense committed five errors and their pitcher walked four batters and hit two more. Oskaloosa terrorized the basepaths by taking extra bases and being safe on many fielder’s choices.
