Two locals have been named to the Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team in Class 2A.
Lakeview’s Maddox Bell was named First Team as a utility player.
Lakeview shared the Region 3 title with Saegertown and finished the season with a 16-4 record.
The Sailors beat Mercer, 6-1, in the District 10 quarterfinals before dropping a tough 1-0 decision to Mercyhurst Prep in the semifinals.
Bell had a .371 batting average this season. He had 23 hits, which included four doubles, a triple, and four home runs, and drove in 29 runs.
On the mound, Bell had a 1.26 ERA and went 4-1. He had 64 strikeouts, issued 11 walks, and gave up 10 runs on 24 hits.
Wilmington’s Chase Mitcheltree was a Second Team selection in 2A at outfield.
The Hounds closed out the season with an 11-10 record. They lost in the D-10 quarterfinals to Saegertown, 10-0.
Mitcheltree had a .433 batting average. He had 26 hits, including two triples and seven doubles, scored 18 runs and had 22 RBIs.
