One of the best seasons of Merrifield’s career came during his time in Toronto as he was voted in 2023 to the AL All-Star team and finished the season with 149 hits, 11 homeruns and 67 RBIs.
Merrifield also had quite the message for Phillies fans, stating that he liked them a lot more than they like him but he wished he could have been better during his time in Philadelphia.
«Philly, I liked you way more than you liked me. Sorry I stunk for you.» – Whit Merrifield in his very candid retirement letter
Hopefully Merrifield enjoys retirement and fans get to see him around the game in this new chapter of his life.
