The Morro Bay baseball team swept through an unbeaten Ocean League campaign and made it to the CIF Central Section Division 3 championship game. Santa Maria players notched the top two individual awards.

Santa Maria junior Julius Medina is the All-Ocean League Baseball Team MVP. Another Santa Maria junior, Dominic Martin, is the league’s Pitcher of the Year.

Julius Medina posted a 2.12 ERA for a Santa Maria team that qualified for the post-season and went out in the first round of the Division 4 playoffs. He batted a robust .525, easily tops on the team.

Martin batted .377. He was second on the team behind Jordan Medina, Julius Medina’s identical twin brother, in RBIs with 22. As a pitcher, Martin posted a 1.61 ERA.

Four Morro Bay juniors, Quintin Crotts, Eli Brown, Colton White and Tanner Gray, are on the All-Ocean League First Team. Crotts had stats for the most games played of any of the four, 29. Crotts batted .392, with 11 doubles, two home runs and 18 RBIs.

Santa Maria, Nipomo and Santa Ynez all had two players on the All-Ocean League First Team. The Santa Maria representatives are Jordan Medina, who made the First Team as a shortstop, and senior right fielder Mateo Peinado.

Besides leading the team in RBIs with 25, Jordan Medina batted .426. Peinado hit .380 and drove in 13 runs.

The Nipomo representatives are junior Logan Hobbs and senior Aden Willis. Hobbs led the Titans in batting average at .444. Willis hit .317 and led the team in RBIs with 21.

The Santa Ynez representatives are sophomore catcher Jaxon Glover and senior pitcher Tate Minus. Glover led the team in batting average at .382 and in RBIs with 27. Minus posted an ERA of 1.59, though his record was a hard luck 4-6.

Nipomo and Santa Ynez went out in the first round of the Division 4 playoffs.

All five Ocean League teams have two players on the All-Ocean League Second Team. The Morro Bay representatives are juniors Chad Wilkinson and Evan Davis.

The Orcutt Academy representatives are sophomore Nick Grindy and senior Moses Aguirre. The Santa Maria representatives are sophomore second baseman Bryce Alejo and junior shortstop Alex Ybarra.

The Nipomo representatives are senior catcher Ryan Barr and freshman Chase Moulden. The Santa Ynez representatives are senior Ben Flores and freshman Elijah Roberts.

Orcutt Academy senior center fielder Alex Meraz, Santa Maria freshman catcher Andrew Rice, Nipomo junior Travis Barr, Santa Ynez senior outfielder Diego Pulido and Morro Bay sophomore Jack Deovlet all earned All-Ocean League Honorable Mention.    Â
