Three Tennessee baseball reserves entered the transfer portal on June 24, bringing the number of Vols in the portal to 22.

Infielder Dane Morrow, catcher Brooks Wright and pitcher Ben Martin were the latest Vols to enter the portal. All three redshirted and did not play in 2025. Wright is graduate of Bearden.

The trio followed seven pitchers entering the portal on June 23 as Tennessee’s overhaul of its pitching staff gained momentum. Only five hitters have entered the portal with only one that played in 2025. Infielders Jack Jones and Robinson Martin also entered the portal. Outfielder Colby Backus, who hit .188 in 21 games, is the lone hitter who registered playing time.

Pitchers Michael Sharman, Andrew DuMont, Dane Bjorn, Tanner Wiggins, Brayden May, Luke Payne and Stratton Scott entered the portal on June 23.

The group joined Dylan Loy, Andrew Behnke, Brayden Sharp, Bryson Thacker, Austin Breedlove, Thomas Crabtree, Austin Hunley, Ryler Smart and Beau Revord as the pitchers in the portal. Loy is the most notable departure after leading the SEC with 33 appearances. Behnke, Breedlove, Crabtree and Sharman had minimal roles. Sharp and Hunley pitched early in the season before fading.

Tennessee has seven players committed as transfers.

The Vols have added four pitchers in the transfer portal in Brady Frederick of ETSU, Bo Rhudy of Kennesaw State, Clay Edmondson of UNC Asheville and Mason Estrada of MIT. Both Edmondson and Estrada are eligible for the 2025 MLB Draft and are considered draft risks.

They also added Bowling Green two-way star DJ Newman, who was a weekend starter.

UT has commitments from former Virginia star Henry Ford and Garrett Wright from Bowling Green, who can catch and play in the outfield. Ford is a first baseman and outfielder who is draft eligible.
