President Donald Trump’s decision to bomb Iran this month has been among the most controversial ones of his term. But while a lot of longtime supporters have said that the President has lost their respect, at least one former MLB star has reversed his position.

Last week, former All-Star shortstop Zack Cozart took to X and publicly admonished the president. He warned that if Trump’s actions led to a war that he would “no longer support” him.

“If Trump gets us in a war I will no longer support him and I’m sure most of you know I love Trump,” Cozart declared last week.

Fast-forward to this week, and with the United States having seemingly accomplished its mission in Iran of destroying its nuclear weapon capabilities, Cozart is ready to eat his words. He declared that after what he’s seen, he has “learned to trust the man.”

“I’ll gladly eat my words for what has transpired today… lesson learned to trust the man,” Cozart wrote yesterday.

Other Trump supporters were more than happy to applaud Cozart for reversing his stance in favor of their beloved President:

“Had trust since the day he descended the golden stair case. Just had a gut feeling he was the man we needed,” one user replied.

“You’re the only person I’ve seen own it and not move the goalposts. Respect sir,” wrote another.

“I respect that. A lot more need to follow your lead… A lot more,” a third wrote.

“I have no idea how people don’t trust this dude with all he’s done! I never wavered for a second! The best President of our lifetime!!”

“It’s healthy to be skeptical. Yes, Trump is usually pretty right on things. He’s got good instincts. But solving Iran may well take much more than he’s ready for at the moment. Give him a chance, but stick with the cautious optimism here. Only time will tell.”

“It’s not about eating your words. Trump has earned some faith–in issues both foreign and domestic. What’s a guy gotta do to get some respect, get shot in the face?”

Clearly things have been working out in Trump’s favorite recently.
